For the past three years, the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED) has been a proud sponsor of COSI’s Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement and In Depth: Autopsy programs. With this continued commitment to COSI, we would like to make available a special opportunity to the students of COSI’s teacher network by offering these students a $250 scholarship to attend an NYLF/MED program this fall.
Founded in 1992, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) is an independent, educational organization established to help prepare extraordinary young people for their professional careers. Its mission is to bring various professions to life, empowering outstanding young people with the confidence they need to make well-informed career choices. NYLF programs are offered in a variety of subject areas, including law, medicine, national security and collegiate success.
The Forum on Medicine is the nation's foremost program in pre-medical education for high school students. The Forum utilizes a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes clinical and research visits to some of the nation’s top medical centers.
With close cooperation from many prestigious and technologically-advanced hospitals, research facilities and medical schools, the Forum challenges students to learn about a broad range of topics, including educational requirements, career options, clinical practice and complex ethical and legal issues facing the medical profession today. Students discuss global epidemics, cures for life-threatening diseases, life as a resident, medical specialties and primary care with current physicians and patients.
Students from COSI’s teacher network that are interested in enrolling must do so through the “Enroll Now” button at the top of the page to receive their $250 dollar scholarship.
